About the position

The Customs Brokerage Specialist at FedEx Logistics is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the timely release and movement of freight and cargo. This role involves preparing and submitting necessary documentation to comply with customs regulations, resolving issues that may delay shipments, and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders to meet customer service requirements. The position also includes data management and operational reporting to support account management activities.

Responsibilities
? Provide consistent customer service and resolution to ensure timely release and movement of freight/cargo.

? Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to U.S. Customs and other parties to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

? Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay freight movement.
,
? Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers and service providers to exceed customer service requirements.

? Resolve banking and letter of credit issues, and advise customers on payment terms.
,
? Obtain payment on delinquent accounts and resolve billing issues.
,
? Perform accurate data input and corrections into computer files.
,
? Coordinate post-entry activities on behalf of customers and manage entry verification processes.
,
? Access external client systems as necessary and correspond with business partners through various mediums.

? Produce operational trend reports and keep business partners informed of the exception process.

? Support Account Administrators with account management activities and perform entry reconciliation as needed.

Requirements
? High school diploma or GED required.
,
? 1 year of brokerage or transportation experience and/or customer service experience required.
,
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner).

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
,
? Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
,
? Problem-solving skills and ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work.
,
? Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
,
? Knowledge of HTS classification and familiarity with the harmonized tariff system.
,
? Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and federal requirements.

Nice-to-haves
? 1 year of US Brokerage experience preferred, 2 years preferred.
